Comments: My step grandpa was a member of the 3rd ID in WWII and was at Anzio. He got out as an E6, Tech Sergeant after the war. I joined the Army in 1983 and retired in 2006. He passed away in the late 80's and I never got to talk to him about where he was or who he was with exactly. He told me a story about getting shot in the back of the neck and left for dead. Does anybody know where I can find out more? His name was Alfred Warren Scott and he was a great man.

Subject: searching for Terrance Palmer

Comments: Hello, Surely someone can dig a little deeper after searching for over 20 years and just getting standard form letters. I am searching for my birth father Terrance or Terrence Palmer who was stationed at Ft. Meade, Maryland in 1975. Almost daily I try hard to find him. My mother lost contact with him after Ft. Meade Maryland after marrying another man. All the information is that he was stationed with her at Ft. Meade, Maryland in 1975 it was a very brief affair. I contacted
Ft. Meade Maryland, and they don't have records back that far. I contacted personnel records yearly and get a standard form letter because I don't have anymore information on him. He is a black gentleman in his mid-50's now. Please help me I need medical information for my child. I don't know my background.

Comments: My Uncle Donald Haney served with the 3rd Infantry in WWII. He never talked much so I only have sketchy information. I believe he may have landed in Sicily and I Know he fought in Germany. He told me that he was close to Audie Murphy although he never met him. I know that his LT. was a Mr. John Toole from Missoula Montana. I know this because they used to talk every Christmas Eve and Mr. Toole even wrote a book about their exploits. If there is anyway I can find out more I would deeply appreciate it.

Comments: I would like to find a very good friend of mine, his name is Carl Bruster. Last time I saw him we were stationed in Aschaffenburg, West Germany in Graves Kaserne, Bravo Company 1/7 Infantry in 1988. He was my Platoon leader. We were called "BUSHMASTERS". At that time in 1988 he was a First Lieutenant. Carl was like a brother to me, and I've been trying to look for him and people always ask me for his social security number and I don't know it. Now I came across you guys here in the net, and I hope you guys can track him down and if you find him, give him my e-mail so he can contact me. Thanks.

Comments:Dear Sirs, My name is Jürg Herzig, I am Swiss and I am researching the service of a US serviceman in WW II. As the guy has 7 battlestars on his ribbon I assume that he either fought in a unit among the 3rd Infantry Division or the 1st Infantry Div . So I check with your Division first. I would like to know the unit this soldier was in and what awards he was entitled to wear. I have been told that he participated in the D-Day landing on June 6, 1944 in Normandy.

The soldiers name is: John D Segel, Army serial number 17081821, borne October 4, 1921 and dies on January 17, 2002 in San Diego.
Awards I know of: Purple Heart, 2 Bronze Stars and oak cluster, Europe-North Africa medal with 1 silver star and 2 bronze stars devices.
Any information is highly welcome. I would like to thank you in advance.

Subject: Father, Pfc. Russell Robert Carr

Hello, my name is Jeffery Carr, and I am looking for any information that you have about my farther Pfc. Russell Robert Carr, army sn. 36 373 276, during WWII. I have his army separation papers from 1945. His date of discharge was 10/03/1945. He enter service 9/19/1942 from Chicago IL.
He left the army from I company of the 255 inf division after being transferred from the 106th division in Aug. 1945. He shipped out from the ETO in Sept. 1945. This information I got from the historian of the 255th, but he did not know what company in the 106th he came from, and the 106th wants to know what company he was in before they look for any information.
From his separation papers he was in Sicily and Rome Arno and African middle eastern Theaters, I bring this up because the 106th did not go into action until Dec. 1944, so he must have come from someone else, the only other division that was in those Theaters was the 3rd ID ?
Anything that you could do to help would mean a great deal to our family, my father died in June 1969.
Sincerely
Jeffery Carr

Subject: purple hearts

Comments: I have found my grandfather's (Walter Kalback 2338858) discharge papers from WWI, in them it is documented that was wounded twice in battle (shrapnel wounds, inhalation injury). He unfortunately died in 1940, long before Truman retroactively awarded WWI veterans purple hearts. Is my father still eligible to receive my grandfathers decorations and supporting documentation is needed?
