Name: Tonya Shook
Email: shookum@pldi.net
Comments: My Husband, Clarence Shook, was in the Korean War with
reservist who served in WW2. There is no record of his battalion
serving. He served in 369th SCARWAF EAB. He wasn't on the boat
battalion that is listed but his group from the Army on loan for
work in the European theater for Special Circumstances has dropped
out of record. They dug water wells in Europe during the Korean War.
The men in this battalion were from everywhere and in the Reserves
where they had enlisted after serving in WW2. We have looked and
looked. This was in 1953. He was in the Army, on loan to the Air
Force Engineers - 369th Battalion SCARWAF EAB. Do you have any
information at all on this unit since there were those who served in
WW2 in this? It appears to be lost to history. I just might write a
book about this group if I can get some location of these people in
this group. Thank you,

Comments: Many GI-Babies in Germany are trying to locate their
biological American fathers. I thought it was a good idea to create
a website where searches from the GI-Babies, Veterans looking for
their German children and siblings looking for their German
half-siblings could post their dates. If you served for the
US-military in Germany, you might have the chance to find your child
on the website.. All GI-Babies are interested in family background
information, medical history and would like to reunite with their
American fathers and the American families. Nobody has any financial
interest.
If you have served in Germany during your time in the service and
had a love affair/ relationship with a “german Fraulein” and you
think, there is a possibility that you fathered a child, then you
found the right site to post your search or find a match for your
child.
Take a look or post, it's free:

Subject: I NEED A COPY OF MY DD Form-214 HONORABLE DISCHARGE
Comments: I LOST MY PAPERS THROUGHOUT THE YEARS AND AM REQUESTING A
COPY PLEASE.
How to Request Military
Service Records or Prove Military Service
The National
Personnel Records Center is working to make it easier for veterans
with computers and Internet access to get copies of documents from
their military files. Military veterans and the next of kin of
deceased former military members may now use a new online military
personnel records system to request documents, including Discharge
Documents DD 214.
Because the requester will be asked to supply all information
essential for NPRC to process the request, delays that normally
occur will be minimized. The new web-based application was designed
to provide better service on these requests by eliminating the
records center's mailroom processing time.
Former military personnel and their dependents can get more
information at the National Archives website. Military personnel
records can be used for proving military service, or as a valuable
tool in genealogical research. Most veterans and their next-of-kin
can obtain free copies of their DD Form 214 (Report of Separation)
and other military and medical records several ways:
http://www.archives.gov/veterans/military-service-records/get-service-records.html
DD 214 Now Online for
VeteransThe
National Personnel Records Center (NPRC) has provided the following
website for veterans to gain access their DD-214 online:
www.vetrecs.archives.gov
. This may be particularly helpful when a veteran needs a copy of
his DD-214 for employment purposes. NPRC is working to make it
easier for veterans with computers and Internet access to obtain
copies of documents from their military files. Military veterans and
the next of kin of deceased former military members may now use a
new online military personnel records system to request documents.
Other individuals with a need for documents must still complete the
Standard Form 180, which can be downloaded from the online web site.
Because the requester will be
asked to supply all information essential for NPRC to process the
request, delays that normally occur when NPRC has to ask veterans
for additional information will be minimized.
The new web-based application was
designed to provide better service on these requests by eliminating
the records center's mailroom processing time. |

Subject: The Haunted House In Kitzegen, Germany
Comments: Back in 1981 I was station in in Kitzegen, Germany in
Larson Barracks, 703rd Maint Hq. While being station there I was
approach by some officers and my platoon sgt. I was told that they
wanted to put a haunted house for the military and there dependents,
and if I could help out. well I did, and it turned out great. I
believe we made over $1000.00 that night charging .50cent per
person. The following year I was put in charge of the event. If I
could go back in time, I would do it again. My question is ,do they
still have the haunted house? |
