Subject: looking for my grandfather
Comments: My grandmother (Sonja Lotz) is from Offenbach, Germany.
She met an american GI (he was milatary police) It was during 1947
or 1948 that my grandmother was with him. My grandmother was 15 or
16 years old, when she ended up pregnant by him - He did not know
she got pregnant though, since my grandmother's dad, did not allow
her to see him again. The last time he went to try and see her, he
wrote his USA address on paper bag, and gave it to one of her family
member, at the door. His name was either Winkley Rogers or Roger
Winkley, and he was from Louisiana - he had Reddish or Reddish
blonde curly hair. Please help me find him, as my mother, his
daughter, and I, would love to finally get to meet him!!!!!! We have
been looking for him for a very long time now!! |

Subject: Artillery 3rd Div in Korea in 1952and 53
Comments: Dear Infantry Div., I am Robert L. James. I was in 1952-55
RA17-358-413. I was with the 3rd Infantry Div. in artillery in
Korea. Further I was with the 9th Artillery there(155H.) I was a
messenger for my battalion during the majority of my time over
there. The packets of information which I carried daily from DivArt.
to my headquarters were strictly confidential. Therefore I never
opened them. Is there a book or pamphlet on the Messenger
activities? Could I find it, buy it purchase it. I cannot find
anything on my internet. Your e-mail is the first one that I have
found. |

Subject: 3rd ID M1 Helmet
Hello there,
I have in my possession a 3rd Infantry Div painted WWII M1, 3rd ID
insignia on left middle of helmet in colour well preserved and a
Corporal (T) on the right side in white. I purchased the helmet
years ago on ebay, it was suppose to have come from a museum in
Europe ...
It has a high pressure CAPAC liner..., looks like its from 1945..
The shell has the name "Adkins" carved into one place and written in
bluish ink in another.
I am trying to find out if there was indeed a CPL Adkins in the 3rd
ID....and perhaps if this was his helmet!
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I can send
pictures of course if it will help...
Take care.

Subject: Ronald Parker Jacobson
Comments: Good afternoon,
I am trying to obtain any information on my father, Ronald Parker
Jacobson’s military history. He passed away recently and the only
information we have is off his DD214. He was in the Korean War from
1953 to 1955 and spoke very little of his time there. According to
the paper work, his duty assignment was “Hq Company 3d Infantry
Division (Infantry & Military Police)”. I do remember some type of
significance to an "arrowhead". I’m thinking it may have been his
battalion?
I am in the process of building a shadow box with his ribbon and
came to a road block with a particular pin that is on his hat. I
went to a local military base that was able to help me copy the
ribbons/medals but they were stuck on the pin. I am hoping that what
information I can obtain, will help me decipher this pin as well as
gain some knowledge of his time there. I did note that was buried
with more ribbons than what was listed on the DD214.
Any information or direction that can be provided will be greatly
appreciated.
