Subject: Pvt Steve Wolinsky 1919-1998
Comments: Dear Sir,
My name is Emmanuel Delaville, I am 43 years old and I live
in France. I am actually doing a research about Pvt Steve
(also known as Steven) Wolinsky who was a member of Company
H, 30th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division. Mr.
Wolinsky served from 6/10/1942 to 8/24/45. ASN: 33345756.
I am in touch with his Granddaughter, Kristin, but
unfortunately, they lost all the pictures about him during a
flood in 1972. Only one picture was saved but it is in very
bad condition. Do you think it could be possible to find a
picture of Mr. Wolinsky?
Best Regards,
Emmanuel |

Subject: Research

Comments: Dear Sir,
I am trying to track down some info about my great uncle.
His name is Nicholas Fantacone. He served with the 3rd
during WWI and was killed in France in 1918. I think he was
lost in the Battle of the Marne but I'm not entirely
certain. I know from his grave stone that he was in the 30th
Inf. Company E but what I don't know is the exact date of
his demise. I'm planning on going there this year but would
like to at least find the date of death so that I can figure
out where he died. It might have been at Chateau Thierry.
I presently am at a loss as to where I can find this info so
anything you can help me with would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
John Kenney |

Subject: Documentary about WWII in Italy
Comments: Dear 3rd Infantry Division,
I'm Marco Curti and I work as a researcher and documentarist
for a television production company based in Rome.
I've got your e-mail from your website.
Last year I worked for this project:
http://www.historychannel.it/wwiilaguerradegliitaliani/programma/
And now I'm in NYC and I'm making a documentary about
Italian Americans who fought the WWII.
For this project, I'm searching for Italian-American war
veterans still alive who fought in Italy during WWII, and
who are willing to share their stories with us. I'm looking
for personal anecdotes or personal stories of war and as you
know this could be one of the last chance to interview the
WWII veterans still alive.
I've already found some veterans of 10th Mountain Division,
another from 82nd Airborne and I don't want to miss veterans
from 3rd Infantry because they were one of the most
important divisions who fought in Italy.
Do you think you could help me to found more
Italian-American veterans for the interviews?
I'm available for every further question about me and the
project.
Regards,
Marco Curti |

Subject: Searching for LTC Brian Gale the first
Comments: Dear Sir/Mme:
I don't know if this is the right place to make inquiries;
but, I am hoping you can steer me in the right direction.
My name is Catharine Vallieres, nee Cathy Buckland, born
1943. Brian was my childhood buddy for seven or more
summers. We spent our summers on Sheeks Island, Ontarion,
Canada on the St. Lawrence River system. This island is
mostly under the Seaway. I am writing a history book about
life on the St. Lawrence and wish to include the escapades
of Brian and myself. I know that Brain and hisbrother Donnie
and their mother orothy had moved to Daytona Florida, U.S.
and Brian was in the armed forces as is his son, I see in
some photos on the web at http://www.warfoto.com/100_2677_;
but, I do not know how to contact either Brian or his son
LTC Brian Gale, the Second.
I would really appreciate your help.
Thank you so very much.
