I am looking
for any memory anyone may have of my paternal grandfather, Jack W. McIntyre,
may God rest his soul. He rarely talked about the war, but I know he was under
Patton, and I think he was in the 3rd for most of the war. Please let me know
if you have any record of him. It means a lot to me and my father.

My father was in the

he received? He was in the 100th Div of the 375th Field Artillery Battalion.

Hello 3rd Inf Div, from Holland
Dear Rock of the Marne,
I have a request but first a small story.
From the age of 5 years old my grandparents and parents took me along to the
Vosges mountains on holiday near Kaysersberg/Colmar. At early age I was very
interested in the soldiers who fought in the war and everything around it.
When we used to play on those mountain tops and went in old houses and huts we
used to find military stuff like shell casings iv got a casing at home wich
says Hughes brothers Seward, Nebraska January 1944, the whole shed is full of
shell casings and I always wondered how they get there.
Since my grand parents died 10 years ago we didn't go there that much so since
I was 19 and able to travel alone I did. I visited all the places again and
went to visit people my grandparents knew, this lady there shes now 83 had
during the war a Panther tank standing in her garden covering the Road coming
from the Col du Bonhomme.
So I was always very intrested in this area and the guys who liberated it.
Last holiday I visited the area again and the Memorial at Kintzheim were the
Sherman tank is located, and what I never had expected happened suddenly there
were these 3rd Infantry Division veterans visiting the same place I was very
honoured to meet them right there.
I am trying to find out more about 3rd Inf Division Marne specially some old
photographs but its hard to find, and is there a way I can get in contact with
these 2 men and the people that were there? Can u give me some tips perhaps?
The picture of me with the veterans is included.
Greetings from the Netherlands
