Subject: Companies G and H 7th Infantry

Comments: Greetings!! is there anyone who can help? I am doing some pre-WWII research and am trying to find out if Companies G and H of the 7th Infantry were even active before 1939. Companies E and F were the garrison for Alaska at Chilkoot Barracks. The rest of the 7th Infantry Regiment was at Vancouver Barracks. If anyone can tell me if Companies G and H were also at Vancouver Barracks at this time or if they were inactivated before the war I would appreciate the info, can't seem to find the info anywhere.
Thanks Jim Collum

Subject: Soldier Search - Sgt. Eddie V. Teal

Comments: Dear sir,
I am trying to help my girlfriends father (Vernon Tysinger) find a former friend of his fathers who fought beside him back in WWll. The gentleman's name is Sgt. Eddie V. Teal. Sgt. Teal was KIA in the Philippines on 12-12-44. He is buried in the Manila Amer. Cemetery. Burial #56748224.
Vernon's father, Pvt. Cletus Tysinger, named Vernon after his buddy that was killed in the war. He must have thought a lot of Sgt. Teal. We are having difficulty in verifying that Sgt. Teal's middle initial "V" stands for Vernon. We are just wanting to make sure we have the right individual. We have verified that he is from North Carolina as are we.
Can you possibly track down this or any more information about Sgt. Teal. We would also be interested in any family contact info. you might could give us for posterity's sake.
Sincerely,
Mike

Subject: Former member 3rd Infantry Div.

Comments: To whom it may concern;
As my civilian job, I am an Orthopaedic Register Nurse First Assistant. This brings my to my reason for contacting you.
I have a 91 year old patient who when I ask if he was a veteran, responded, 3rd Infantry Division. He told me he'd been knocked down by shrapnel, but never wounded. I'm seeing him with my Orthopod because he has a broken hip, which we will repair very soon. So I was wondering whether or not you people could do or send something to this former member of the 3rd Infantry Division.
Here is what I can tell you.

Subject: Information on father who served in the 3rd during WW2

I am looking for information on my dad, who served in the 3rd during wwII. Over the years he would never talk about his time in the Army. His name is Ralph G. Gould, Born 8/28/1917 in Somerville Mass. He was inducted in Dec 0f 42. If I remember right, he was also discharged in Dec of 44 or 45 at Fort Devens , Mass. . I do know that he served as a radio man or lineman repairing phone communications. He was wounded in the right leg in Germany . Dad would never give us his service number, or much more information. Years ago, he did have a book on the History of the 3rd in World war Two. I I have tried to locate a copy of the book, but have had no luck. Dad passed away on June 27th 2011 in Lowell , Mass at the age of 93. He was buried at Puritan lawn Memorial Park in Lynnfield , Mass. At his request, there was no military funeral. My siblings and I want to try and get information on his time in service of our country.

Thank You;
Robert L. Gould Sr.

Webmaster's Note: Pfc Ralph G. Gould is listed as a member of the 15th Infantry Regiment in the book "History of the 3rd Infantry divsion in WWII" on page 488. See notice below for purchase of this book.

Subject: Interview Request VA 65th Infantry Regiment

Comments: Hello,
My name is Enrique Figueroa and I’m a Broadcast Center Intern at the VACO Broadcast Center in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in Washington, D.C. I recently contacted this e-mail for information on the history of the 65th Infantry Regiment and it’s experiences during the Korean War for the purposes of a video production that will be done for VA. The information provided has been very helpful and I thank you for it. I wanted to ask if you could inform me if there was anyone of the Society of the 3rd Division (near the Washington, D.C. area) that would be able, and willing, to participate in an interview for said project. If not, could you direct me to someone knowledgeable on said topic who might be willing and able to participate?
I would really appreciate your help regarding this matter.
Thank you very much for your time,
Enrique
