#5398 Name:Terry Griffith Email: militaryworkingdog@verizon.net Search Request: Elmer Griffith Comments: All, I’m looking for any WWII veterans who may have know my father Elmer Griffith. He passed away a few years ago but never talked about the war and I’d like to know more about that time in his life. What I’ve put together is limited and based largely on his discharge papers. He was an enlisted man & served from Nov 1939-Sept 1945. His foreign tour was Tunisian, Sicilian, Naples Foggia, Rome Arno, and Rhineland. He was wounded in Rhineland. His qualifications are listed as driver & mechanic, combat infantry and occupational specialty is listed as cook. Also everyone I met growing up referred to him as Grif so he may have picked that nickname up during the war. I know it’s a long shot but if anyone served with him or has an letter or document that he might have been mentioned I’d love to hear about it.
