Does anyone have
information about Robert H. Bennett?

I met a Luxemburgish WWII survivor (civilian) who since an encounter with American soldiers
in Eschweiler in the Ardennes (Battle of the Bulge) carries a business card bearing this name.
All he knows is that Robert worked as a Advertising Representative for The Evening Times, in Trenton N.J.
before and maybe after or during the war.  We are quite sure Robert H. fought with the Yankee Division
because on the back of the card it says: 3rd Army, 26th Division, 104th Infantry.   According to the
accounts of our Luxemburgish friend, Robert H. BENNETT was the sole survivor of five during an attack
by the Germans on Eschweiler near Wiltz in the Luxembourg Ardennes in the Winter of 1944-45.
If you have any information concerning Robert H. Bennett, I would appreciate receiving a note from you.
My son and I are doing this research as active members of the board of the "U.S. Veterans Friends Luxembourg".

Subject: lost war buddies
Comments:  Hi, I'm looking for two of my uncle's WWII buddies. The first is Ray Cole,
a machine gunner Cherokee from Pawhuska, Ok. He was in the 3rd Infantry division, 30th regiment,
M company. He was the gunner and my uncle was his assistant. Ray Cole was wounded in the chest.
We are not positive about the second one's full name, but according to a book,
"History of the third infantry division in WWII" by Donald G. Taggart and my uncle's recollection
of the spelling of his last name it is likely one of the following:
Pvt. Charles Zielinski, 601st tank destroyer Btn.
Pvt. Joseph M. Zielinski, 3rd? reconnaissance
Pvt. Charles Zielinski, 9th field artillery(medium)

My uncle remembers him as a Corporal or Sargent in the 3rd Infantry, 30th regiment, M company.
He also remembers him saying he served in the Quartermaster Corp in Africa before he volunteered
for the infantry. This man helped my uncle tremendously!
Please email Brian at doveganpeas@yahoo.com or call at 919-969-9287
if you've any info on this company, any member of the company, these two men or any suggestions in my search.
Thanks  Brian Donlon

Comments: During WWII, my great uncle died on the front lines in Anzio, Italy.  His name was
Robert Ihlang from Minnesota.  I don't know much about him except, according to my grandfather,
he was "one of the first to go over the hill".  He was a ground troop.
My husband and I are traveling to Europe this summer and plan to stop at Anzio.  It would be more
meaningful if we knew about our great relative and his courageous sacrifice.
Any information would be appreciated. Thank you. Becky Ruder

I am a high school senior from New Jersey, and am producing a documentary about
World War Two with my Media Technology class. This documentary will possibly be
shown on the regional district television of the area I live in this summer. I wanted to know if
you can help me find any New Jersey WWII veterans that would be interested in doing an interview
and being taped. I would greatly appreciate any contribution you could make to this documentary.
Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Brandon Traister.

Subject: WWI Rosters
Hello, I'm looking for information on a WWI 3rd Div. Doughboy. I have a photo of him with the
3rd Div. shoulder patch with an medal (unidentified as of this date) and his name Tony Galasso.
The only other info on the photo is World War 1, 1917. If you would have rosters from WWI could
a search be made to see if his name shows. I could e-mail a copy of the photo to someone if that might help.
Thanks Joe Hartwell

Request: I am looking for information concerning my father, Clyde Thomas Williams,
born Aug. 9, 1919.  He served in 3rd Infantry Division in all of WWII.  He told few stories
before he passed away.  I want to provide a tribute to him for all 9 of his children and his
many grandchildren so that he will not be forgotten.
If I need to provide any additional information, I will work quickly to help anyone who can help me.
