1999-10-31 REQUEST #1 Joan E. McGrath Website: Galten Family Album Westminster, MD I am trying to research my father's experience as a Sgt. in the 9th Div., 14th Infantry, attached to 3rd Infantry, U.S. Army. His name was William H. Galten; he was inducted at Fort Dix on 11/8/43 and honorably discharged 4/30/96. His army records were, "lost in the St. Louis fire". All I know is that he served in Munich & Northern France; NCO 631 Intelligence; received the Brown Service Star, RAMAT Ribbons, Victory Medal and Good Conduct medal. I have posted the four pictures I have of him in uniform at the above website. I would appreciate any info anyone can offer that could tell me more about the campaigns he was in and identify some details of the pictures. Thank you. |
