I work for the American Red Cross Armed Forces Emergency Services in Taegu,
Korea.
We are looking more information on American Red Cross worker William H. Baker
who was killed
on 2 September 1952 while interviewing a 15th Regiment soldier.
He was killed when a enemy artillery round made a direct hit
on the bunker they were in.
The soldier was seriously wounded. This is the only information that Red Cross
has.
If anyone knows the name of the soldier who was wounded, their location and the
unit involved,
and any other details we would be greatly appreciate it being forwarded to

About a year ago I found this wonderful web site on which I posted information about my father
who served with the 3rd Infantry. Someone who was familiar with the membership of the Society helped me
to locate a war time buddy of my father's.
My father Matthew Diabo passed away this past Jan. 16 at the age of 78 peacefully with his 12 children by his bedside.
I would like to contact a Carl Voors who is a member of the Society. His address and his phone number were e mailed
to me once before but I cannot locate it to let him know of my father's passing. Carl is somewhere in Ohio,
and he and my father were finally able to talk to each other on the telephone after 50 years!!...

convoys, etc., and his account of debarkation and landings.
I also have a box of cigarettes, with signatures of perhaps 150 men he served

in a hand carved Moroccan box. Plus other miscellaneous items.

I am interested in knowing the details of my brothers death , as I was only 5
years old at the time.
I really haven't found details in all these years.
His name is Woodrow Wilson Crain and he was in the 3rd Armored
Division,
possibly served under Gen Patton. He was killed in 1945.
He was buried in France Solers Cemetery until his body was shipped to States.
Plot A Row 13, Grave 131 and this number 34230984. I saw a picture of this cemetery
and his grave.
Would like to know if anyone has any information or pictures.. Understand U.S.
had just captured a town
and he was one of the soldiers that stayed to secure it and was hit by sniper
fire and taken down.
Don't know name of town or city. He was born in February 1918.

I was with HQ Co. 3rd. Bn. 7th. Rgt in Chorwon Valley from late 1953-mid '54.
I'm looking for info as to the Mess Sergeant of "M" Co. during that
time. The only name I knew him by
was "OAKIE" since he was from Oklahoma.
His was the best mess in Korea and it seems everyone "just happened to be
in the area" around mealtimes, even the Rgt. CO
Colonel "Killer" Miller.
I took him to the railhead when he rotated home in '54. Later I ran into him
under difficult circumstances
at Fort Lewis Washington in 1955. When he was released from service I took him
to Sea-Tac airport for trip home.
Sadly I didn't get his real name or address since it was a real sad occasion to
see him leave under the circumstances.
Would sure like to find out if he is still around and could contact him. Thanks,
