My uncle, Jack O'Sullivan was in the 7th, and participated in the Algerian campaign.
Was awarded the Legion of Merit for action against Vichy French, 12 hour firefight, etc.
I have his journal beginning at Fort Lewis on Dec 7, 1941, through the troop transports,
convoys, etc., and his account of debarkation and landings.

I also have a box of cigarettes, with signatures of perhaps 150 men he served with,
in a hand carved Moroccan box. Plus other miscellaneous items.

Does anyone know of a museum or other organization that could use such memorabilia?

Subject: Searching for information of brother killed in WWII

Comments:
I am interested in knowing the details of my brothers death , as I was only 5 years old at the time.
I really haven't found details in all these years.

His name is Woodrow Wilson Crain and he  was in the 3rd Armored Division,
possibly served under Gen Patton. He was killed in 1945.

He was buried in France Solers Cemetery until his body was shipped to States.
Plot A Row 13, Grave 131 and this number 34230984. I saw a picture of this cemetery and his grave.

Would like to know if anyone has any information or pictures.. Understand U.S. had just captured a town
and he was one of the soldiers that stayed to secure it and was hit by sniper fire and taken down.
Don't know name of town or city.  He was born in February 1918.

Subject: Lester C. Hunter

I am searching for information on Lester C. Hunter, Third Infantry, 30th  Regiment,
6th Battalion, Company B, who served 29 Oct 1943 to 10 Feb 46. He was wounded in Feb 45
and treated twice for frozen feet, the last time shortly after V-E Day.
Since the war was over, he was reassigned to another unit for discharge: Company G of the 399th Infantry.

I am looking for reference material or suggestions. St. Louis fire destroyed much of his records.
He was denied use of the VA clinic because of the lost records. I will appreciate any suggestions.

Comments: Historic Yellow Springs is located in West Pikeland app. 15 miles from Valley Forge, PA.
It is the site of America's first military hospital.  Over 1300 Continental Army soldiers were cared for
in the hospital which was commissioned by the Continental Congress in 1777.

More than 200 died of disease or complications from wounds.  As this is our 225th anniversary,
we are reaching out to educate others about those who came here and the 200 + who died here while serving
in the Army of their young nation. Could we submit a story and photo to your newsletter?

The request I have is the roster of the men in the 3rd Infantry Division in World War 1,
more specifically the men who participated in 'Rock of the Marne', I am an aspiring writer and
I absolutely love the the glory and the story of these brave men and finding out the roster will put me so close
to my book that my info finding will be done and I will be able to start writing it.
Look for it when and if it comes out the title will be "Rock of the Marne" and by Dylan Jones

Subject: Lt. Wayne O. Cure

Comments:
I am searching information on my Great Uncle, Lt. Wayne O. Cure serial number 0519370.
He was in the infantry and captured by the Germans December 26, 1944. He was held prisoner in Stalag 11B.
I have been told that he traded his Texas A&M class ring for extra bread.

I would love to hear from anyone how can help me get information and the unit that he served in.
His records burned in the 1973 fire and information has been hard to find. Thanks

Subject: Looking for a missing buddy

Comments:
I was with HQ Co. 3rd. Bn. 7th. Rgt in Chorwon Valley from late 1953-mid '54.
I'm looking for info as to the Mess Sergeant of "M" Co. during that time. The only name I knew him by
was "OAKIE" since he was from Oklahoma.
His was the best mess in Korea and it seems everyone "just happened to be in the area" around mealtimes, even the Rgt. CO
Colonel "Killer" Miller.
I took him to the railhead when he rotated home in '54. Later I ran into him under difficult circumstances
at Fort Lewis Washington in 1955. When he was released from service I took him to Sea-Tac airport for trip home.
Sadly I didn't get his real name or address since it was a real sad occasion to see him leave under the circumstances.
Would sure like to find out if he is still around and could contact him. Thanks, Jim Kenfield
