Comments:
I am interested in anyone who served with my father-in-law (now deceased). He was a farm boy from Darlington, Wisconsin.
I think his basic training was in Louisiana.  I know he served for a time with Audie Murphy in Europe and was a character
in the movie "to Hell and Back".

He has a picture of William(?) LaPeer in uniform (possibly a buddy?). And I remember him telling of burning Francs
to keep warm in France. Now I wish we had badgered him a little more for the experience.

One of his pictures show a 103rd Div Patch. And he was awarded the French Croix de Guerre w/palm.
Don't know how to research where he fought. Remembered that he was constantly added and fought with several divisions. Seems he mentioned Anzio landing often. arlea1@netzero.net  Arlea Stenberg , his daughter-in-law

Homepage Title: Korean War Scrapbook 1952, 1953
Homepage URL: http://btainc.com/Korea/

Comments: I'm putting together an online scrapbook for my kids and grandkids and one of the scrapbook's
chapters covers my time spent in Korea on the West side of the Chorwon Valley (East edge of the Iron Triangle)
while in the 3rd Div, 15th Inf Reg. during 1952 and 1953.
The Korean War portion of the scrapbook is made up of some 96 slides I'd not looked at during the last 50 years
and as I try to put words to the pictures, I'm finding that a lot of details have fallen through the memory slats.

If anyone has the time to look at the scrapbook at the URL above, I'd appreciate any comments, corrections, or other help.
Thanks. Brad.

Editors Note: This is a beautiful website that is put together very well. All you Korean vets should be able to relive old memories thru these wonderful photos. If any of you can help Freeman, please contact him.

I also worked as a dial central office technician on both Larson and Harvey Barracks with German Technicians
as an apprentice. My shop officer was CW2 Alec J. Boccuti, and my Platoon Sergeant was Sgt Cliney M. Short.
Our company commander was CPT Charles R. Holzier.
If anyone remembers me, or was there during those years drop me a line.

Subject: S/Sgt. Burl W. Noe

Comments:
Hello, I am writing to try and find out what I can about my brother, Burl W. Noe.
He was in the 101st. Airborne.  He took his basic training and jumps at Ft. Benning, Ga.
He was in France and Germany in 1944.

Burl was awarded some metals, I think two Bronze Stars and one Silver Star. I remember he came home
from the war in Sept. 1944 or 1945? I think he said the last battle was in Sourbrooken (spelling)?
He was supposed to go to a reunion in 1989 or 1990 in Tennessee; but he died in 1989 in Hamilton, Ohio.
Any information you can find would be very helpful as I am doing a history on my family and ancestors.

The Noe Family has service in the America Wars from the Rev. War, War 1812, WWI and WWII and V.N.
I am checking with the rest of my family to see who has Burl's picture after he had finished Basic Training.
Burl was in battles in France & Germany.
Best regards, Gerald F. Noe gnoe2@juno.com

Rich:
I received the following request looking for information on a Richard Vanderwerff. A search of my records
yielded no information. The email states he came from the 3rd which leads to believe that he may have been
a high pointer and transferred to the 70th at war's end for shipment home.

According to the email below he was battlefield commissioned and was awarded 2 Silver Stars.
I do not know what the 125 ID could indicate, since the Army had no such Division.

Have you any information on the above individual?

Sincerely,
Steve Dixon

Comments:
My grandfather (Alpheus McKinley (Bud) Crittendon) died on 10/18/01 after suffering from injuries received
in a serious tractor accident on 6/28/02.
Two years ago, he and I sent off for a new set of his metals and I still have his original Ike jacket and medals
although they have suffered moth damage.

Anyway, I have roughly traced his route from the US through Africa, Sicily and mainland Europe.
He shipped out around 3/43 to Africa and came home in 9/45. My grandfather was a truck driver according
to his discharge papers and we are assuming he hauled ammunition or whatever was needed.

I would be interested in finding out if there is anyone more familiar with the particular unit.
He did not talk about it much but we gathered a few details thru the years and he did bring back some souvenirs. Thank you.

Subject: Hello,
I am the daughter of William Austin "Bill" Coleman and I am looking for anyone who may have served in the
Korean Army with my dad. Dad was from Pikeville, Ky when he enlisted in the Army in 1948 -1954.
He never talked about his experiences while in the Army and we never asked.

My dad passed away at the young age of 56 in 1984. I have often wondered if there may be someone
out there who served with my dad and could tell me some of his stories while in the army.
I know that my dad was in the 321 Ordnance Recovery Co. 330th Ordnance Battalion from letters he sent to my mom.

I also know that he was stationed at Camp Pickett at one time. That is about all I know. If there is someone with information on my dad, would you care to share it with me? I have enclosed three pictures of dad. Two are of him and the third is of he and two of his unidentified army buddies (dad is in the middle).0000tmp00001.jpg (190171 bytes)
