Subject: Searching for father

Comments:
I am searching for my father.  Based on some Korean Social Service adoption paperwork he held the rank of  Private in the U.S. Army.  He was stationed in Korean 1965-1966.  I was born 5 May 1966.  The documents indicate he was in a common law marriage for 1 yr with my mother SOO HEE KIM  and was denied permission to bring his pregnant wife back to the United States.  It state he was 20 years old at the time.

Recently, personal medical problems have arisen where a family history would be quite useful regarding treatment options.

If you know of any information regarding my father please contact me at  rkisoo@aol.com. Thank you for your time.

Comments: My Father, Sgt. Major Sam Crowder, just passed away. He served with the 3rd ID and was really proud of me the day I told him that I was going to Germany to serve with the 3ID too.
I was stationed with the 124th Signal Battalion in Wurzburg from October 1976 til July 1979. I've tried a couple of time to contact of some of my army buddies, but have had any luck. Signing the guest book was my first stop in visiting your site.
Is there anyway to locate someone who served during peace time?
Can anyone tell me what ever happed to the 124th and the Hindenberg Kasern in Wurzburg.
I'f anyone is interested in pictures of the 3rd I.D., Wurzburg or Germany, I've got hundreds of them!
I've often told my wife that I would love to take her back to Wurzburg, (after the kids are finished with college) I really enjoyed and grew up in Wurzburg.

Webmaster's note: See Sgt. Major Sam Crowder's pictures of his Korean service on our website at:

Subject: James T Denton
Comments: My dad James T Denton was in the army from 1958 thru 1964. His nickname was Buddy.
I remember him talking of being in Germany and doing something close to a wall. I know he drove a Hvy. Veh. over there.
His last duty was Hq Co 2d ARB 41st Inf Apo 35 according to his DD214.

He has recently passed and he was getting help with his medicine from the VA. I applied for my mother to get the Veterans Widow benefit.
They have just told us that she may not be entitled to receive this due to him not being in a war.
The best I can remember he told us he was. He had served his time and then before he got discharged they kept him for a another year.
Could you please shed some light on this situation for me. His service number was US 53 304 814.

Subject: WWII Records of R L Vaughan

Comments:
RL Vaughan served in the Pacific Theater as a Medic (Conscientious Objector, like Congressional Medal of Honor winner Desmond T. Doss).  Where can I find the actual records of his deployment and troop actions in the unit he was assigned to?

He often mentioned the Philippines, and Papau New Guinea.  Beyond that I do not know much of what my father did.  He did mention being in fox-holes, on ship sea-sick, Kamikazes, and watching a paratrooper fall with an unopened chute onto the top of another trooper's chute and slide down the ropes next to the paratrooper with the open chute.

My father was a devout Seventh-Day Adventist who would not bear arms because he did not want to kill.  All Seventh-Day Adventists gladly served our country, however many were put in the stockade because of their refusal to bear arms early in the War.  My father was at Fort Ord California in the Stockade after his induction until President Roosevelt signed an order to release Seventh-Day Adventists to be able to serve as medics as they had requested.

Also if any person knew my father or served with my father, any information would be helpful.  Also if anyone was imprisoned at Fort Ord with my father, please let me know.

Hello.  My name is Ashley Orndorff.  I am 15 years old, and I am the sister of Private Gregory Orndorff, of the 3rd ID, 2nd brigade.  I would like to request his address while on base, and possibly when he would be leaving to come home.  I was very happy that the 3ID made it back home.
Thank You,

Subject: WWII Medals

Comments:
My grandfather served in the army during WWII.  He volunteered even though he was exempt from service, as my father was only 8 years old.  He was in the 90th infantry 359th regiment 3rd Battalion I company 1st Platoon.  He was wounded in action on January 31, 1945 for which he received the Purple Heart, and the Bronze Star.  I'd like to know a little bit about the fighting that he was involved in, he never spoke of it and he passed away last January.  His journal that he kept speaks of time spent in Bastogne, Troisvierges (unsure of spelling), Welchenhausen, and Arlon.  He was very dear to me and I'd like to understand the great service he did to his country and the suffering he endured.  I appreciate any help at all.

Subject: WWII Photographer - David Policheck (sp) -11th corp field artillery

Comments: My father, Gordon Hamblin was with the HQ Battery, 11th Corp, Field Artillery in WWII from 1943-1945.  He knows of a member of his corp that was the photographer and took pictures of the war featuring his troop and created a book about the experiences.  His name is David Policheck (spelling is best guess) and he was from New York City. My dad was unable to afford the book and we would like any information about obtaining a copy. Also any info about fellow troop members from this 11th corp.  This corp was disbanded in Japan in 1945 and put with HQ 43rd Div. Art. APO 43.  We are very anxious to hear from anyone with any information about this.  Thank you!

I need help desperately in finding my son's father. His name is Jeremy Edward Jones .Our son will be 10yrs.in Nov. Jeremy left for Fort Stewart, GA. Oct.1,2001. I know he was sent to the middle-east not long after that date. He was set up for an appointment with support enforcement before he left, and he didn't keep his appt. I have been to court 5 times trying to serve him papers for child support. His family lives here, and they claim they don't have his info. I know they are in contact with him. We have joint custody, I'm the domicile parent and I need help financially due to the fact that I'm single and a student. I've tried numerous attempts to locate Jeremy. He hasn't called nor contacted me in anyway. He pays his wife (they are separated) child-support for their son whom is 4yrs.of age. Anyone knowing his whereabouts or info on how I may contact him or someone in authority of handling this matter, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank You,
