Request: I was in the 3rd Div. 7th IR and also in the 9th Inf 47th Inf. I was in B company in one or the other of the regiments.
My memory has faded in the past 8 or 10 years. I had a "mini" stroke that affected only the memory
part of my brain.
The only names I remember from 1944-1947 are Ed Ceglarski, Al Biondi and an old WW I
CAREER serviceman named POP BREEDLOVE. Does anyone out there know where they might be now? I had my basic training at Camp Weeler, Georgia with a GI named Disanfernando. It was so long that when the Seargent tried to read his name on the helmet liner my friend had to turn 360 degrees in order for the name to be read.
I went overseas with 5 guys from Brooklyn, NY on the SS George Washington. After the above my
memory fades. My e-mail address is ggbianco@juno.com. Please contact me.

Request: My father Carl Osborne Sr. is 80 years old and fought in battles in Europe after coming
ashore at Normandy. He was in the 1st Army, 117th Infantry Division, Co. D. Under General Hoge?
His memory is poor due to his age and mental state after the war. He fought in Battles at St.
Lowe, Bulge, Siegfried Line, Roer River, and Mortain. Was there another battle called Morteem?
Please forgive me for my spelling errors. Does anyone have information about his unit, especially at
Mortain or Morteem? He recalls that only 13 men of his unit survived this battle and they were given
a Presidential Citation for their efforts. It was presented on the battle front and his copy never made
it home. Does any one know of this event. All help greatly appreciated. Thank you.
