Comments: My father in law was 3rd Division soldier from 1907 to after
the war. He was a enlisted man who was made a Lt. Quite rare I'm told. I
have all his papers, maps reviews of each battle including gas attacks.
instruction books from 1909 to 1919. plus quite of the division
newspapers. I'm interested in finding the value of these items. His name
was Harry Hanna, sometimes it was spelled Hannah. He also helped chase

Subject: WWII MOH Info needed!
Comments: My father is Tulio Angelo Bonora and he was a Sergeant in the
Army from 1941 to 1945 and was stationed in Italy while Pearl Harbor was
fought. He was on the front lines and he has gotten over 6 metals that
we can recall, however he is now 84 years old and doesn't remember much
and we would like to get help to find out which metals he received. As
of right now, we only have his purple heart metal. His ex-girlfriend
through his other metals out before we find out anything. My father also
had his knee completely replaced from the war and anyways, we would like
some help to find out more about our father because he was a hero and
saved many lives and we (my sisters & I) just finally got to know him,
as we were all foster children growing up. Now I am only 34 years old
and I would like to this important information as my dad should be more
honored as he is still alive and he is one of the last of the WWII
heroes left. Please help me in anyway possible. Thank you in advance for
any and all information that you may be able to provide. God Bless!! |

sent to Johnny Coughlin's mother in Jersey City, NJ. Johnny died 26 Oct.
1918 at Meuse-Argonne and is buried at Romagne. The book was a history
of the 3rd Div. and contained pictures of Johnny, among other soldiers.
Johnny's mother was a Gold Star mother and we have a picture of him at

Subject: Paul Burykin
Comments: My Father & Godfather both served with the 3rd Inf Div, 15th
Inf Regt Service Co. My fathers name was Paul Burykin and God Father
being Ladd Karanda. I have all of his documentation including a free
passage from Troop "A" 72nd SQDN Tenth Constabulary Regiment APO 154
U.S. ARMY sighed by Elzie Hickerson Capt INF Commanding.
I am requesting the information pertaining to his Medal issues as they
had to return them due to the fact that they were Russian Slave Labour
personnel and despised the German Army patiently that they took up arms
and participated in the following areas (Colmar Pocket, Rhine Crossing,
Siegfried Line, & Nuremberg).
I have also a large array of images from this time including a photo of
Audie Murphy as a young Sargent. This also includes a great deal of
correspondence from that time in pertaining to their service.
The information from my God Father is that they received the U.S. Combat
Infantry Badge (ETO + 4 Combat Stars), French Legion of Honour, PUC,
Good Conduct, & VE medals.
I am trying to obtain the above medals and also clarify the French
Legion of Honour if this medal was issued to the Unit or if not which
French medal was?
The reason that I am passionate regarding this issue is that I am a ex
ARMY soldier from the Royal Australian Corps of Signals with 10 years
service and 2 tours overseas in Cambodia in 1992 with the UN.
I wish to wear the medals that my father & God Father had received with
great pride however this is extremely difficult with the passage of time
and inability of remembering some situations as only my God Father is
Alive now and he was born in 1927.
Your assistance in this matter would be of great help if you are able. I
am able to give you further information if required by scanning the
Documentation.
Best Regards,
Deema P Johnston, JP |

Subject: 15th Infantry Regiment
Comments: I have the series "Band of Brothers" and have read most of the
current books (Band of Brothers, Biggest Brother, books about the Battle
of the Bulge, etc). The 101st jumped on D-Day, the went back to England,
jumped in Holland, returned to England, fought the Battle of the Bulge,
returned to England, then went through Austria to the Eagle's Nest. Of
course, I grew up reading about Audie Murphy and the 15th Regiment.
My question is this: With the 101st getting a lot of publicity, didn't
the 15th Regiment spend more time on the line and take more casualties?
For instance, how much of Audie Murphy's time was spent in combat as
opposed to being back in the rear? From reading "To Hell And Back", it
appears there wasn't a whole lot of time in the rear unless you were
seriously wounded. I'm hoping someday that one of the great directors in
Hollywood will do a remake of "To Hell And Back", showing it how it really
was. I would appreciate any info you can give me at:

Subject: James Warner
Comments: I am a Marine veteran of six major campaigns fought from
September 15, 1950, until November of 1951. This includes the Chosin
Reservoir Campaign.
Could you furnish me with any information concerning James or Jim Warner.
He claims to have been part of the 15 RCT. He is an honorary member of the
Chosin Few and I would like to verify that he was with the 15th. His
enrollment with our group states that he was with E/7/3.
Thanks for you help.

Subject: Looking for Chico
Comments: I have been searching for years for my husband's best friend
that he served with in Fort Devon's, Massachusetts in the year 67 or 68.
"Chico" came from Guam and that is all we have for information aside from
his name, Rudy Kaha. My husband cannot remember much more than that. Is
there some way of finding military records from Fort Devon's and tracking
a person from there? I believe Rudy was going to Viet Nam after his time
at Fort Devon's. My husband has been to the Wall and searched for his
name, and, thank God it wasn't there.
I have tried Buddy finders and other websites...to no avail. Any
information will be helpful. Thank you. |

Subject: Sgt Sheldon B. Barrett
Comments: I found your address while searching for information about a
close family friend of my parents (both now gone) who was killed in Italy
on (or maybe a few days before) Jan 28, 1944.
His name and military information is:
Sgt Sheldon B. Barrett
ser #19051436
Company I
3rd Inf Regt
30th Inf Division.
(As nearly as I can tell, this information is correct; most is taken from
his v-mails, so should be accurate. I know from reading the old newspaper
clippings that he served under Gen. Mark Clark in the 30th Inf. From that
I have (correctly, I hope) discovered that it was the 3rd regiment. His
last v-mail, dated 01-14-44, indicates "Co. I, 30th")
He joined the Army in January 1941 and shipped overseas in November 1942.
He saw action in North Africa, Sicily, and finally, Italy at (or near)
Anzio. One of his brothers as well as his father was also in the Army and
saw combat during WWII, although "Buddy" was the only to die. I have all
of his letters (v-mail as well as uncensored mail) sent to my folks. His
last V-mail is dated Jan 14, 1944, just a few days before his death.
I was born in 1948, so I did not know him. However, I grew up with several
of his nieces and nephews. I remember my folks talking about him from time
to time, but, I had no interest in these things then (too bad).
I'd like to find out a little more about his combat career, combat record,
and, maybe, how (where) he died. Is there any help you can provide, either
directly or in the form of steering me in the right direction? ANY
information or help you send my way is greatly appreciated. Thank you in
advance for your time.
