Comments: Information 30th Infantry
I am just trying to get any information regarding my uncle, John Frederick, who served in the 30th Infantry, 3rd Division. He was killed in WWII and is buried in Epinal, France. I was fortunate enough to visit the cemetery in January this year and what an experience for me! I want to try to get any information I can regarding the unit/division etc.  I just received information from U.S. Army Human Resource Command in Alexandria, VA which may be helpful. Here is what I know so far:
Army

Company A, 30th Infantry., Reg. 3rd Inf. Div.
Killed in Action: 9/23/44 Buried 9/27/44 Faucogney, France (K165250) is what one paperwork said and another said Eouhey, France. ??
Thank you for your time!

I’m sorry to say I don’t have much information on him. The record center at St. Louis no longer has info on him because of a flood at the facility.  I really appreciate ANY help you can give, and really appreciate your effort.

Subject: Audie L. Murphy dog tag

Comments: Is it possible to purchase these dog tags, or for there to be fakes?? I just moved into a place and I have high ceilings with ceiling fans... since they are so high someone in the past has tied a dog tag to it so that it is reachable. Well it is Audie L Murphy with the tag number 18083707.. and it has the name croinne or something and then says Burnsville Texas... I'm just wondering how I would have this. I live in Fremont, California..... just wondering if this is not as weird as I though it was.

Webmaster's note: Could it be a promotion for a movie that Audie Murphy made?

Subject: Trace Owner of Class A Jacket

Comments: Hi There, I recently purchased an Original Class A jacket which seems to be complete with Original 3rd Infantry insignia that was in a bad way (isn't anymore). If it is to be believed that this jacket is completely original to its first owner then the serial number on the inside should trace him to the 3rd Infantry Division.

The insignia is that of a member of C Battery, part of the one the Divisions field Artillery Battalions.

Would you know of a way I can trace his serial Number?

Regards, Adam, Uk
