Subject: Request for information on 3rd ID Soldier in WWII - Sgt Frederick F Bell

I am looking for some information on a family member who served in the 3rd ID during WWII. His name was Fredrick F Bell, ASN 20845562, and he was from Pecos Texas . His nickname was Red. I believe he served as a writer/journalist in the 3rd, as the two items I have from him are the attached envelope, as well as a photo of Audie Murphy receiving an award from General O’Daniels, which photo was taken by someone in 3rd ID Signals.

BTW, my grandfather was a P-47 pilot in the 324th FG out of Dole Tavuax and Luneville (part of the 64th FW out of Nancy ) and I believe they were heavily involved in supporting the 3rd ID during the Colmar campaign, as well as earlier in France and Italy . Any information on this front would be welcome too, as I know our FG would love to hear from guys on the ground who they supported. I look forward to hearing back from you gentlemen.

Webmaster's note: I will look at our rosters from the Divsion's WWII history and let you know what I find out. Your family member was a very talented and witty artist.

Comments: Maybe you can help finding my friend's father. She is 54 years old now and has never met him so far. It is one of her greatest wishes to meet him personally. Her father was a soldier at the barracks in Aschaffenburg, Germany. He is native American - a Lakota. He was there in the years around 1953. She isn't sure about his name but it might be Adam Stiller.
Of course, probably you don't him, but may be you can help her by telling her how we can get more information. Is there anything like reunions for soldiers? We suppose he went back to the USA - is there something like veteran associations of soldiers who were in Germany? And - you never know -you might know a soldier who lived in Aschaffenburg during that time we could talk to. Thank you very much for reading this.
Yours sincerely
Stefan Ehrl

Comments: My grandfather was PFC Harold Wesley Hill and was assigned to the 313th during WWII. He was killed trying to cross the Rhine river in March of 1945. I am trying to find any information on his service. The national archives did not have anything other than he served because of the fire that destroyed the records. Please help me locate any information.
