Membership-Society of the 3rd Infantry Division

1. Classes of membership are Regular, Associate and Honorary.

2. Types of membership are Life and Annual.

3. Eligibility for Regular Membership: Veterans and active duty soldiers with honorable service in regular components, supporting, or attached units of the Third Infantry Division.

4. Eligibility for Associate Membership: Spouse, parent, children or siblings of any person eligible for regular membership and any person with an interest in or an affinity for the Society of the Third Infantry Division.

5. Members will comply with the Constitution and By-Laws and pay dues.

For the 3ID we have the Persian Gulf War and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
**Note that during the 1960's the 7th Inf. Regt., the 9th Field Artillery, and certain battalions of the 39th FA and the 41st FA served in the Vietnam War.

Terms and Conditions: This Plan allows any member in good standing or new domestic member to purchase a Life Membership by making the agreed payments. Applicants must submit first payment to accompany application. The Society will bill the applicant in based on choice of payment type. Payment is due 30 days after receipt of the billing. Life Membership will be issued upon successful completion of this agreement. No refund of any portion of the current years dues will be made.

There are 3275 members (1018 Regular Life, 48 Associate Life, 1884 Regular Annual, 319 Associate Annual, 5 Honorary and 25 Gift Memberships to be assigned)

Members come from the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Luxemburg, Brazil, and England.

We have members who served in China, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Gulf War, Bosnia, The Global War on Terror in Iraq and Afghanistan.

There are 2 members who served in China, 884 in WWII, 1093 in Korea, 243 in Peacetime, 18 in the Gulf War, 284 in the Global War on Terror (Iraq and Afghanistan) and 2 in Vietnam

There are members who served in the U.S. Marines, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, United Kingdom Allied Forces, The Belgian Brigade, The Greek Expeditionary Forces, The Argentine Army, The German Army, The French Army, French Air Force, The FFI, Troop 719 of the BSA, Italian Army and Embedded Journalists from Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Membership by Location (Winter Locations):

1-10 members: Alaska, Washington, D.C., Delaware, Idaho, North Dakota, New Mexico, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, and West Virginia

11- 20 members: Arkansas, Hawaii, Maine, Mississippi, Montana, New Hampshire, Nevada, Oklahoma, and Utah

21- 50 Members: APO, Connecticut, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Nebraska, Oregon, Tennessee, and Wisconsin

51- 100 Members: Europe, Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Washington

101- 300 Members: California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia

These locations were determined by winter addresses as of January 1, 2009. Many of these locations are from Snowbirds who have two residences.
